General Booking Terms and Conditions 2011/2012
These general terms and conditions apply to Visit Geilo BA, and parties who directly or through a third party, enter into an agreement with Visit Geilo to what is stated in the booking confirmation (the guest). The agreement may apply to lodging, activities, travel, purchase of other products and services, or a combination of the above (the agreement).

Our subcontractors:
We are responsible for ensuring that our suppliers get paid for what you have ordered through us. Our subcontractors are responsible for each part of your booking, including full insurance, permits, equipment, staffing, etc., which is consistent with any and all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the provider.
Agreement etc.
As the tour operator, Visit Geilo, is responsible for providing the guest with products and services as specified in the agreement. The responsibility for the activities to be performed by other than Visit Geilo, are our subcontractors responsible for.
As the tour operator Visit Geilo is responsible for ensuring:
That the guest receives written confirmation of his booking and other important documents.
That the arrangement corresponds to the description in the booking confirmation.
Visit Geilo is not responsible for promises that may have been made by third parties directly to the guest without Visit Geilo’ knowledge and that Visit Geilo is not aware of nor should be aware of. Should such agreements take please, the agreement should be done in writing.
Booking made binding.
A booking is made binding as soon as a booking number is assigned and payment is made. It’s the guest responsibility checking the confirmation and ensuring that the arrival and departure dates are correct.
Payment:
The guest shall pay 100% in advance for the arrangement by booking through www.geilo.no . The guest shall bring the booking confirmation by check-in.
Payment charges:
When paying from abroad, the guest must pay the bank charges in his home country and in Norway. Visit Geilo shall receive the agreed price that appears on the confirmation in NOK. Any unpaid charges shall be charged the guest.
Cancellation and changing of arrangement:
The guest may cancel in writing to Visit Geilo or to subcontractor of arrangement which has been purchased. Visit Geilo and subcontractor of arrangement will only accept cancellations and changing made by the guest. Visit Geilo is responsible for sending the cancelation/changing confirmation in writing to the guest.
Cancellation of lodging and arrangement:
Cancellation more than 30 days before arrival: 100% refund. Visit Geilo shall retain a administration fee of 250 NOK.
Cancellation more than 14 days before arrival: 50% refund, Visit Geilo shall retain a administration fee of 250 NOK.
Cancellation less than 13 days before arrival: 0% refund.
No show: 0% refund
Changing of arrangement:
Since Visit Geilo offers lodging and activities delivered by several subcontractors, change of arrangement must be agreed with the supplier where the guest already has ordered. Please note that each subcontractor has its own terms and conditions regarding cancellation and changing of arrangement.
Insurance/cancellation protection:
We recommend all our guests to have insurance before the trip, in case of illness, baggage loss, accident and so on.
Obligations to the guest:
To book/conclude an agreement with Visit Geilo in respect of lodging, activities, the guest must be aged 20 or over. At least two persons (including the guest) must be aged 20 or over to stay in the lodging unless a higher age limit is stipulated in the confirmation. Proof of identity must be provided on arrival. If the guest does not satisfy the age limit when accessing the lodging, the cancellation rules apply. Other age stipulations may apply.
Guests must follow the rules of conduct, instructions and stipulations that apply for travel, lodging etc. Between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. the guest must show the utmost consideration and not disturb other guests. The guests are fully responsible for any damage to the lodging and its contents if the guest, or another person with access to the lodging, behaves in a negligent or careless manner. If the no smoking and no pet rules are broken, a cleaning fee decided by the subcontractor will be given. The guest must clean thoroughly before the home journey, following the cleaning instructions. If these rules are not observed, a cleaning fee decided by the subcontractor will be given.
The subcontractor has the right to cancel the agreement with immediate effect if the guest or any person in the guest’s party behaves in a disorderly manner and/or causes damage to the lodging or the surrounding area, or if the lodging is used for a purpose other than the intended one. In the event of immediate notice of termination of the agreement, subcontractors from Visit Geilo reserve the right to be able to close the lodging and remove the guest’s property. Subcontractor accepts no responsibility for items left behind.
What if something goes wrong?
Any errors / defects must be reported to the site immediately so that the place has the opportunity to rectify the matter there and then. If the guest during the stay doesn’t contact the staff of the lodging etc, one cannot expect to be given any kind of refund. One needs to give the staff/subcontractor notice of any faults and errors on site.
If disagreements regarding quality, faults and errors on site that may have occurred before or during the stay, Visit Geilo will not be part in these matters.
Force majeure
Visit Geilo will not be responsible for unsatisfying weather conditions, closed facilities or other conditions that lies outside the companies’ control. We reserve the right to any mistyping of prices, descriptions of services and technical problems that may arise.
